USANA Visionex: Focusing on Eye Candy For Eye Health

Eye Candy?

That’s right! You need to eat eye candy for healthy eyes.

Nutrition is the ultimate eye candy.

Like everyone else, I’m interested in taking care of my body by watching what I eat, exercising and fighting stress. Forgetting that my eyes need special care too.

Below are a list of nutrients and foods you need to eat to maintain optimal eye care.

Vitamin A - helps to convert light into brain signals that allow you to perceive images as well as growth and development of cells.
  • Tomatoes
  • Papaya
  • Carrots

Vitamin C - powerful antioxidant that helps the body form and maintain connective tissue such as collagen found in the cornea of the eye.
  • Oranges
  • Strawberries
  • Peppers - Yellow, Red, Orange, Green
  • Broccoli

Vitamin E - antioxidant that helps protect membranes of cells against damage caused by everyday exposure from pollutants such as smog and cigarette smoke.
  • Wheat Germ
  • Oils
  • Nuts
  • Seeds

Zeaxanthin and Lutein - both are types of carotenoids that appear to absorb excess light energy such as too much sunlight and acts as a filter to prevent damage.
  • Leafy, green vegetables
  • Mangos
  • Kiwi
  • Honeydew
  • Peas
  • Yellow Squash
  • Corn
  • Red Grapes
  • Oranges

Bilberry - a relative to the blueberry and cranberry and not readily available in the United States. An antioxidant that helps improve oxygenation and blood delivery to the eye which provides nutrients.

Zinc - a mineral that helps with absorption of Vitamin A as well as other antioxidants.

I know what you’re thinking:
How the heck am I going to eat all of that food?
How do I get balanced portion of each nutrient?
What do I do if the nutrient isn’t easily available to me?

I started doing more research because I was finding it difficult to get a good balance of the foods listed.

I take a product called Visionex that is specific to eye health. It includes the vitamins you get in foods as well as Bilberry Extract.

My name is Brenda and my vision is too important to take for granted. I use supplements from USANA Health Sciences because USANA follows pharmaceutical-grade Good Manufacturing Practices. In other words, what’s on the label is what’s in the bottle.
